Secret

tearsinmyteacup:

Today I heard a secret
it wasn’t mine to hear.
I’m far too observant.

His hand on her shoulder blade,
her playful glance back,
the way he watched her read her book,
his eyes said it—
their delight.

His thoughts were loud—really.
It wasn’t my fault.
I tried hard not to see to him
write “I love you” on her heart.

But now I know his secret,
it weighs down on my sleep.
It was hers to overhear,
it was his to think.

“I don’t know what my future holds but I know who holds my future.” - Tim Tebow

Joy to the World.

Joy to the World. The Lord has come.

Too many times this season, and always, I find people questioning their lack of joy. They blame the friends, the disease, the loss of trust, the spilled coffee for their lack of joy. But even ones who find everything in their life is going well, can’t seem to declare themselves joyful. They have it all, yet still feel no joy. Yet many suffer in the world and have unimaginable joy.  Joy is the feeling of God with us. Joy is the feeling that comes after recieving the perfect gift of grace, mercy, and healing. Joy comes from the resuce. Joy comes from love. It comes from knowing the one who is love, Jesus Christ. That joy remains steady in the hard times and flourishing in the good. Joy does not respond to the world around it, but rather the world around responds to joy. So joy is here for the world, because this Christmas, the lord has come.
